Mao feng is one of China's best green teas. Originating in the Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) area of Anhui Province, Maofeng consists of only the most beautiful leaves, plucked in the early spring. We selected a very high grade organic Maofeng for you.
Mao Feng tea pickers always select two leaves of the same size plus the small bud in the center. The best Mao Feng Tea in China undoubtedly comes from Yellow Mountain. All other Mao Feng Teas are inferior to the Yellow Mountain variety. The Yellow Mountain Mao Feng has a stable position on the list of China's top 10 most famous teas, and it is one of the best loose leaf green teas in the world. The taste is sweet and fresh, with a slightly nutty tone, which gives it a full taste.
Brewing instructions: Mao Feng tastes best in porcelain or glass tea ware. Use 3-4 grams of this tea per glass and add water just below boiling temperature (80 degrees Celsius). To prepare half a liter of this tea, use around 5 grams of tea depending on your personal preference. Don't start with too much tea, otherwise the tea will become bitter. Steep Mao Feng Tea for a few seconds if you like mild tea and for a little more than a minute of you like strong tea. When using the kungfu tea set, add 3 grams of tea and steep for around 20. It's not necessary to wash this tea, but it doesn't hurt.
Every tea leaf is hand-picked and processed in small quantities. During the harvest season, all the tea-pickers go into mountains and at the end of the day they return to their villages with baskets full of tea.
